Privacy Policy

Comparisoft is a software comparison website operated by Macrolific ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit comparisoft.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language; if anything is unclear, email us at contact@comparisoft.com.

Information we collect

We collect very little information directly. We do not require accounts, do not run newsletter signup forms, and do not process payments on this site. The information that does get collected falls into three categories:

• Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 — including pages visited, time on page, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, browser, and referral source. This data is pseudonymous and aggregated; we cannot identify individual visitors from it.
• Server logs via our hosting provider (Vercel) — including IP address, request path, timestamp, and user-agent string. Used to diagnose errors and detect abuse.
• Email correspondence — if you email us at contact@comparisoft.com, we receive whatever you send us along with your email address. We use Zoho Mail to receive these messages.

How we use this information

• To understand which pages and topics readers find useful, so we can improve and expand our coverage.
• To detect and prevent abusive traffic, scraping, or attempts to compromise the site.
• To respond to email inquiries.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not allow third parties to track you across other sites through our pages.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to measure how visitors interact with our content. These are first-party cookies (set under the comparisoft.com domain) and are used only for analytics — not for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.

You can block analytics cookies at any time using your browser settings, browser extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger, or by using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking these cookies will not affect your ability to read or navigate the site.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the site:

• Vercel — hosting and content delivery. Vercel processes server logs as described above.
• Google Analytics 4 — site usage analytics. Google's privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Cloudflare — DNS resolution. Cloudflare may log query metadata as part of its DNS service.
• Zoho Mail — email receipt and storage for messages sent to contact@comparisoft.com.

We do not control how these third parties handle your information beyond our agreements with them. Their respective privacy policies govern your relationship with each service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

• California residents (CCPA/CPRA) — the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information in the meaning used by these laws.
• EU and UK residents (GDPR) — the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@comparisoft.com. Because we collect so little data and don't maintain user accounts, most requests will involve searching server logs and analytics for activity associated with your IP address or email and removing it.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for business audiences. We do not direct content at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us at contact@comparisoft.com and we will delete it.

Data retention and security

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention period. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Email correspondence is retained for as long as the relationship is active. We use industry-standard security practices to protect the limited data we hold, but no system is perfectly secure — we cannot guarantee that data will never be subject to unauthorized access.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
